Peggy Lorene Stephens died at home on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 at the age of 91. She was the daughter of Clarence William "Dick" and Emma Grace (Chamberlin) Leforce. She was born on Jan. 19, 1917 in Centralia and grew up in the areas around that city and Vinita. Peggy was married to the late Lloyd Kenneth Stephens on Jan. 20, 1934 in Tulsa, OK. Peggy and her husband Lloyd, owned Oklahoma Fixture Company (OKFIXCO) in Tulsa for many years. They moved from Tulsa to the Whitehorn Cove area outside of Wagoner. Peggy was once asked why she stopped skiing and she replied "Lloyd stopped pulling me". She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd; parents "Dick" and Emma Leforce; three sisters, Marie Kizer, Grace Presley, Emma Leforce and two brothers, Ora and John Leforce. She is survived by: her nine adopted nieces (caregivers); four nieces; two nephews; a special friend, Philip Kyle, along with many other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2009 at Twin Oaks Baptist Church in Wagoner. Burial will be held at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Shipman Funeral Home & Crematory, Wagoner, OK.
