Floyd H. Baxter, 49, Dies

Floyd H. Baxter, 49, Route 1, a former for 34 years, died at 2:25 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Bartholomew county hospital. Mr. Baxter had been in ill health since January and seriously ill for the last month.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Barkes and Inlow funeral home. The Rev. Hubert Walker of the Bright Methodist church in Bright will read the rites. Burial will be at the Lambert cemetery on Marr road. The casket is open at the funeral home now.

Mr. Baxter was born Nov. 23, 1912, in Jefferson county, the son of Edwin and Anna Painter Baxter of Clifford, who survive. He married the former Miss Gladys Moore Sept. 24, 1934, in Columbus.

He had been a farmer on the Edward Meyer estate for the pat 34 years. Surviving in addition to the parents and wife are a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Brown of Clifford; four brothers, Homer Baxter of Edinburg, Fred Baxter of Clifford, Walter Baxter of Route 6 and a half-brother, Joe Wright, of Brown County; three sisters, Mrs. John Ferguson and Mrs. Charles Swinehart, both of Clifford, and a half-sister, Mrs. Ashford Mankin, Sr., of Clifford and one grandchild.
