Burke E. Anderson, 64, 1353 Southwood in Indianapolis, died Tuesday at his residence. He was the brother of Eugene Anderson of Indian Hills, president and chairman of the board of Arvin Industries, Inc.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Flinn and MaGuire Funeral Home at Franklin by the Rev. Walter Marchande. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Persons may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

He was born Aug. 21, 1912, in Crawfordsville to Irving and Grace Rawlings Anderson. He married the former La Verne Williamson in Columbus in 1937, and she survives.

A graduate of Franklin High School and Franklin College where he was a well-known basketball player and golfer, he had taught and coached at Nineveh High School and received his master's degree from Stetson University.

Anderson retired in 1970 as management engineer for Uniroyal Co., and had retired the day of his death from Ivy Tech College where he was an instructor. He was past president of the Hillview Country Club and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, Masonic Lodge of West Newton, Shrine, Scottish Rite and Franklin Elks Club.

Other survivors include two brothers, Robert Anderson of Clarksville, Tenn., and Russell Anderson of Paris, Ill.
