Dennis Warren Angland was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Harold and Inez Angland. Jack grew up in Chokio, Minnesota and graduated from high school there. Jack graduated from the University of Minnesota with highest honors and received his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was commissioned into the Navy during World War II.
Jack and Caroline (Behrens) were married in 1945. They have six children: Dennis, Annette, Thomas, Sheila, Barbara and Clair. Jack and Carol were active members at Peace Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale, Minnesota.
His career began as an instructor at the University of Minnesota in the Electrical Engineering Department. He joined Northern States Power Company in 1950 and continued with the company until he retired in 1981 as the Executive Vice President. After retirement Jack, Carol and Clair moved to Miltona. They enjoyed Mount Calvary Lutheran Church where they were active members. He was also an active member in the Lions Club, the Tuesday Afternoon Card Club and the 10 a.m. Miltona Coffee Club.
Since April of this year Jack has been battling cancer. He died from complications on October 31, 1989 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Jack is survived by his wife Caroline, his children and their spouses: Dennis and Barbara Angland, Thomas and Annette Flaig, thomas Angland, Sheila St. Cyr, Jay and Barbara Wood, Clair and Cindy Angland; his grandchildren: Andrew Nittler, Dennis, Christopher and Michael Angland, Jessica and Elizabeth Flaig, Matthew and Michael Wood. Jack was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kari Louise Nittler.
Funeral services were held November 3, 1989 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Don Erickson officiating. Pallbearers were Christopher Angland, Dennis Angland, Andrew Nittler, Les Olson, Mark Luedeke and Thomas Flaig. Interment was at Mount Calvary Lutheran Cemetery, Miltona, Minnesota. Services directed by Petermeier's Alexandria Funeral Home.
