They traveled to Wichita, Sedgwick, KS with Georgia Ann's widowed elderly father during the Fall of 1887. While only in Wichita a few months later a second son, Floyd Valentine McPheeters was born to Joseph S. and Georgia Ann McPheeters. Later, the "J. S." McPheeters family decided to leave Kansas and the mid-west in 1889. They wanted to start a new life out in the climbs of Colorado. They boarded the Atcheson-Topeka-Santa Fe train to the Rocky Mountains headed for the the last stop in Colorado where a McCall nephew met them.! They established their young family, home and employment in Pueblo, CO, since 1890. The McPheeters family were faithful members of the First Baptist Church of Pueblo. Joseph S. possessed the exactitude of an expert craftsman in carpentery, mechanics and photography. Joseph S. possessed sound judgement and a keen intellect. He owned a thriving business as a furniture and pantry builder. His hobbies were photography and working on his car. He belonged to the Woodsmen of World. Joseph Siegles and Georgia Ann McPheeters thrived while living in Pueblo, Co! Family members were always welcome in their home and they embraced them.
They chose to be buried in a family plot near the home place of their son and grandsons in Salt Lake City, UT.
