Lawrence A. Brown, 78, of Barton City, Michigan, passed away April 12, 2006, at Alpena Regional Medical Center.

Born on October 10, 1927 to Albert and Grace (McCormick) Brown in Detroit, he was raised there. Larry served in the Korean War as a United States Marine. He married Frances Peak in 1975. Larry was employed by the United States Air Force as a mechanical engineer. He worked throughout Europe, and also in Greenland. He returned to Detroit in 1984, and moved to Barton City in 1987. He was a member of the American Legion in Mikado, Post 254, Barton City Eagles #4141, and was the zoning administrator for Hawes Township.

He was survived by his wife, Frances Brown, one step daughter, Valerie Nicholas of Rosebush, MI, two stepsons, Larry Wohlfeil and Kerry Wohlfeil both of Barton City, 1 step granddaughter, Kari Ann Nicholas, and one brother, Neal Brown.

He was preceded in death by two brothers; Albert and Vincent, and by one sister; Gladys.
