Artist and Entrepreneur: Johnny "Hook" Daniels, 55, died at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center. He was born in Quincy, FL. He was a resident of Fort Pierce for 49 years coming from Quincy, FL.

He attended the local schools here in Fort Pierce, FL. He also worked as one of the Original Highwaymen Artist. Johnny Daniels was the youngest of the Highwaymen. As the kid brother to Willie Daniels, he used to sit on the sidelines assembling the carpenter trim that was used to construct frames for the artists' paintings. For this he earned a pittance of the amount of money that he saw the artists reap for their works. He also saw how much fun they had during their social painting sessions. It was then that Johnny decided to become an artist and entrepreneur.

Preceded in death by his father Brian Daniels, and mother: Juanita Davis.

Survivors include his sons Jermaine & Howard Braceley, Michael Wilson, and Johnny Daniels, Jr., daughter: Teresa Dawson, brother: Willie Daniels, sisters: Curley Daniels, Connie Thompson & Hilda Jackson, and 9 grandchildren.

Services: Visitation will be 3-7p, Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6, 9-11a at Sarah's Memorial Chapel. A celebration of Life will be conducted at Saturday, 2p, June 6, at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Howard Coleman officiating. A burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Note: The Florida Highwaymen have a collective induction into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame (in the Capital Rotunda in Tallahassee).
