FAIRHOPE — Frank Orison Barber, 79, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at Mercy Medical in Daphne. A long-time resident of Fairhope and Daphne, he was a native of Knoxville, Tenn. Barber was the retired owner of Gulf Coast Auto Damage Appraisal in Mobile. He served as a Marine during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Victoria Vowell Barber of Daphne; four sons, Michael M. Barber of Daphne, Joseph F. Barber of Foley, Peter H. Barber of Mobile and Charles D. Barber of Queensland, Australia; a daughter, Gay Ann Dean of Fairhope; a sister, Rose Mary Ballard of Maryville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A graveside service and burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Memory Gardens of Fairhope. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home in Daphne. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Fairhope United Methodist Church Building Fund or Mercy Medical in Daphne. Arrangements are by Wolfe Funeral Home in Daphne.
