June 9, 1934 - May 30, 2009 Pearl Elizabeth Dawes, age 74, of Alvin passed away on May 30, 2009 after a long battle with cancer. Pearl was born on June 9, 1934 in Alvin to parents, Cloid J. and Bessie (Hornback) Jackson. She was a lifetime resident of Alvin. She was a member of Heights Baptist Church. Pearl enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, traveling, camping, and collecting thimbles and spoons from different states. Pearl was employed and retired from Monsanto Chemical Company in Alvin after twenty-four years. Pearl was preceded in death by her first husband, George Sanders.
