Ora married George Early on August 29, 1894 in Mound City, Kansas. Their children were Harry Ernest, Lunetta "Ione", and Charles Nelson. Late in life, Ora fought uterine cancer. Around the same time, her daughter-in-law died unexpectedly, leaving two young children. Even though she was struggling with health issues, Ora and George took 6-year old Ione and 9-month old Kenny into their home to raise. The childrens' father, Ora's son Harry, had gone to Kansas City to find work as it was 1933; the middle of the Great Depression. Ora died from the uterine cancer 5 years after taking the children into her home.

Ora was the gg granddaughter of Revolutionary War patriots, John Ellis, Sr. and Henry Ingalls, and great granddaughter of Revolutionary War patriot Thomas Dickerson. Her father and father-in-law fought with the Union in the Civil War, and her eldest son served in World War I. This, truly, was a patriot family.
