Alvar W. "Al" Johnson, of Ravenna, died June 3, 2009 in Ravenna, Nebraska. Al was born August 28, 1927 in Hastings, Nebraska to Carl & Gerda (Magnuson) Johnson.
Al graduated from Hastings High School in 1945 and attended Hastings College. He served in the United States Navy towards the end of World War II. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad and Brach-Thompson Department Store before becoming Advertising Manager/Store Developer at J.M. McDonald Department Stores. He married Peggy Bexten on April 30, 1950 and she preceded him in death on October 6, 2006. He was a past member of First United Methodist Church and Lochland Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, Husker football, his children and grandchildren.
