HE MARRIED EDNA FLORENCE VANDEVENTER 5 MAY 1934 IN HILL CITY, GRAHAM, KANSAS. GOD BLESSED THIS MARRIAGE WITH THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN: LYDIA LOUISE ANDERSON.
SERVED IN THE ARMY DURING WWI.

Berryton - James E. Anderson, 88, Berryton, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, at a Topeka Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Anderson was a retired building contractor. He was a superintendent of construction building bridges, sewage treatment plants and waterworks until he retired in 1954.
He moved to Berryton where he was a carpenter building homes, barns and other buildings. He was an Army veteran of world War I.
He was born April 9, 1896, at Churchill, Tenn., the son of William and Louise Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was a member of Brown-Leonard-Woodward Post No. 390 of the American Legion at Richland, and Veterans o World War I of U.S.A. Inc. Jayhawk Barracks No. 1113 and Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church, both at Topeka.
He was married to Edna F. Vandeventer May 5, 1934, at Hill City. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lydia Louise Holland, Berryton; three brothers, Frank Anderson, Kingsport, Tenn., Carl Anderson, Surgainsville, Tenn., and Chris Anderson, Memphis, Tenn.' and a grandson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church.
Military graveside services will be conducted by Brown-Leonard-Woodward post No. 390 in Lynn Creek Cemetery at Berryton.
Mr. Anderson will lie in state until 9 p.m. today at Tibbits-Griffin Highland Chapel and after 9 a.m. at the church.
