Delbert M. Hopkins, 78, died late Sunday night at his home in Dresserville, after an illness of several months. He was born in the Town of Summerhill August 7, 1865, the son of Merritt and Louise Hart Hopkins. For 18 years he resided in Sempronius and was a member of the East Summerhill Baptist Church.
Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Edith Hopkins; three daughters, Mrs. Starr McConnell of Cortland, Mrs. Harry Mills of Mountain City, Nev. and Mrs. Wallace Bliss of Groton City, four granddaughters, five grandsons, eight great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Charles Stone of Oxford and Mrs. Mark Ripley of Dresserville, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the East Summerhill Baptist Church. Rev. Fred Whiting, pastor of the Sempronius Baptist Church, will officiate, assisted by Rev. Allen Knight, pastor of E. Summerhill Baptist Church. Burial will be in West Homer Cemetery.
