Margaret Alene Moine, age 91, of Chino Valley, passed away March 25, 2006, at the Shilo Adult Care Home in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Alene was born March 25, 1915, in lonia, Iowa, to George Harrison and Jessie Elizabeth (Shadbolt) Richards.
She was a homemaker and a farmer in Iowa and also found time to drive a school bus in Nashua. Alene was a wonderful baker. At the age of 53, Alene became a LPN and moved to Arizona in 1976.
Alene lead a very active life. She volunteered at the Arizona Pioneers Home, was a 4-H leader and also helped people in the Reading Program get their GED. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
Alene is survived by her daughter, Pamela K. Moine of Paulden; her grandsons, Scott Benning of Nashua, Iowa, and Luke Benning of Chino Valley, Ariz.; her great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty and Marjorie of Florida; brother, Ret. Lt. Colonel Merwin Richards of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene (Dick), on Nov. 25, 1999.
A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, April 8, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, 1230 Willow Creek Road, Prescott. Pastor Larry Christensen will conduct the services.
Inurnment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Nashua, Iowa at a later date.
The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
