Notes from her daughter, Frances Loftiss Carroll:

Mother was born in Obion County. She was blinded by rheumatic fever in right eye and wore glasses most of her life.
Mother and Daddy started dating after daddy dated Inez, mother's youngest sister. Mother and Daddy ran off and got married in Marion, Arkansas just across the river from Memphis. Daddy said they had to go back home, not have a honey moon because they both had to work. Mother worked at Sears. She told me the 3 girls had to give their paychecks to their father each week.

Charles A Loftiss married Miss Frances Louise Hatcher, Crittenden County, Arkansas, 12/20/1931.
