Notes from her sister, Frances Loftiss Carroll:
According to Ann's death certificate she got a respiratory infection, tonsils got infected and kidneys failed causing death. Ann was 12 yrs old when she passed away. She was brilliant, pretty, talented and a good soul. She left us wanting and needing her all of our lives. She is still deeply missed, even as I write this in 1997. Ann lost her eyesight shortly before she passed away. I've always missed my sister but know she waits for me in heaven.
The day Ann was buried at Stephenson's Chapel Methodist Church cemetery all of her 7th grade class was there, standing in the cold rain, sleet. An ice storm set in shortly after that - that was in January 1950
