Edmund Grendzinski, age 71, of Perris, Calif., formerly of Thorp, died Dec. 24, 2005, at his home after a two year battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jul. 1, 2006 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Fr. Keith Apfelbeck will celebrate the Mass and burial will follow in New St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery in Thorp.

Edmund Grendzinski was born on Jul. 29, 1934 in Thorp, Wis., the son of Peter and Mary (Bando) Grendzinski. After graduating from Thorp High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for three years. Edmund then worked in various places out West before finally settling in Southern California. His final employment was Consolidated Edison before retiring in 1988.

He is survived by three brothers, William "Bill" of St. Maries, Idaho, John of Altura, Minn., and Alvin "Al" of Maplewood, Minn.; eight nieces and nephews; and special friend, Janet Getman of Perris, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leonard and Raymond.
