Leila was born August 19, 1910 in Center neighborhood north of Clinton to Alanson Church and Nettie Curtis Church. She was the youngest of eight children all of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from St. Bernice High School in 1929 and attended Brown's Business College in Terre Haute.
She was married to Carleton Mack in 1931. Leila enjoyed being a homemaker and was a lifetime church pianist and organist.
Her husband Carleton Mack died in 1978 following 47 years of marriage. She later married Edmon Goforth in 1981, he died in 1998. She was a member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene in Terre Haute, associate member of Bono United Methodist Women and a former member of the Happy Homemakers Club of Dana.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, two stepsons James E. (Barbara) Goforth of Dana and Gene B. (Frances) Goforth of Huntsville, Texas; seven step grandchildren and twelve step great grandchildren.
Services will be at Overpeck-Gooch Funeral Home in Dana, IN, on Wednesday, Nov.16, 2005 at 11:00 am with Rev. Kim I. Suits officiating. Burial will be at Bono Cemetery, Dana, IN. Visitation will be Tuesday evening 5 to 7 pm and one hour prior to the services.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Southside Church of the Nazarene, 1901 South 4th St., Terre Haute, IN 47802 or to Bono United Methodist Church, PO Box 698, Dana, IN 47847.
