Harry Edward McPheeters was the oldest son born to Joseph Siegles McPheeters and Georgia Ann (Sturgeon) McPheeters on 22 Apr 1886. He was born in Bolivar, Polk Co., MO, not far from his grandfather's (Azariah McPheeters) old McPheeters homestead. His family migrated from Missouri to Kansas and on to Colorado, on the Atcheson-Topka-Santa Fe Railroad in 1889, after the death of his paternal and maternal grandparents. Harry E. and his brother, Floyd V. were raised in Pueblo, CO. Harry was a professional railroad man and had superior craftsman abilities. Harry married Sarah Ann Moss on 20 June 1910 in the Salt Lake County Building, Salt Lake City, UT. The couple developed a "heritage" of spirituality through their marriage. Harry and Sarah Ann (Moss) McPheeters romatically chose to renew their marriage vows 20 June 1950. The sincere repeating of their marriage vows was a "forever" legacy for their children & grandchildren! Harry was known as "H.E" or "Mac" all his life. Harry Edward McPheeters was a member of the Elks Club. He never sought public office and yet everywhere he was loved for his kindly personalty and benevolence. Those who knew him well referred to him as a "Gentle Giant".
