Mrs. Markos was born in Kollina, Greece, on May 3, 1890, daughter of Stamata and Lambros Yourtas.
She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Announciation, and of the Ladies' Society of the church. She and her husband were the founders of the Holy Trinity Church of Lowell.
She is survived by four sons; Frank Markos and Anthony Markos, both of Salisbury; Sam Markos of Newburyport and Ted Markos of Seabrook, N. H.; 22 grandchildren [predeceased by one granddaughter, Delores Arlene Markos, of Seabrook, N. H. - pb], 24 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Lambros Markos, Apostolou Markos, Chris Markos, Bill Markos, George Markos, and the late Anastasia Pappadopoulos.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a. m. from George E. Twomey Funeral Home, 193 High St., followed by a service at 11 in the Greek Ortodox Curch of the Announciation, Harris Street. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are tomorrow from 2-to-4 and 7-to-9.
