Joseph M. Adams, Sr. age 64 of Philipsburg passed away on Friday, June 5, 2009 at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born March 19, 1945 he was the son of Rose Marie Adams of State College and the late Frank S. Adams.
He was a graduate of the Philipsburg Osceola High School, class of 1963 and was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He also worked for the Northern No. Coal, Inc. of Philipsburg.
On June 24, 1972 he wed Patricia E. Kadash who survives in Philipsburg.
Also surviving is a daughter, Mary Ann Koptchak of Philipsburg; two sons, Joseph M. Adams, Jr and his wife Trudie and Jonathan M. Adams and his wife Casey; four sisters, Josephine Shaw and her husband James of Bellefonte, Frances Daugherty and her husband Leo of Savanna, GA, Deborah Collins and her companion Charles Loesch of State College, Susan Greenlow of Toms River, NJ; five brothers, Frank J. Adams and his wife Annette of Edison, NJ, John F. Adams of Toms River, NJ, Albert P. Adams and his wife Marylin of Osceola Mills, Robert A. Adams and his wife Elaine of Osceola, David P. Greenlow, Sr. of Toms River, NJ and five grandchildren.
In addition to his father he was preceded in deahty by a sister, Mary Cowfer and a brother James Adams.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 8:30 p.m. at the Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills with David P. Greenlow, Sr. officiating.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
