He was born on Sept. 28, 1914, in Terre Haute to Rollie Glenn and Lottie Mae (Curtis) Tomlinson.
Franz was a lifetime member of the Zorah Shrine and Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Shrine Band. He was one of the original members of the Six Men of Note and Claudia.
He and his wife owned and operated Midwest Supply Electronics in Twelve Points in Terre Haute. Franz was a private pilot, as he enjoyed flying.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 72 years, Kitty (Montgomery) Tomlinson, whom he married on June 27, 1937; three children, Errol Tomlinson of Terre Haute, Kathleen Maxwell and husband Donald of Terre Haute, and Tommy Tomlinson and wife Jerry of Colorado; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Curtis Tomlinson.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Monday in Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, with Pastor Aaron Wheaton officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
