From a family member. So hope this helps.
The death certificate unfortunately, contains a lot of misinformation. Joe was born in Indiana in 1862. His father, Daniel Auguste Giauque (Joe simplified it to "Jaque"), was Swiss-French, born in Switzerland in 1816, and immigrated to the US. Joe's mother was Mary Ann Neuenschwander, born in Ohio to Swiss-German Mennonite parents. Joe was my great grandmother's brother, and in all the information I've found on him, I've found nothing about him being a physician, so the jury's still out.
