MRS. FREDERICK (MEAD) KRIEGE departed this life in St. John's Hospital, St. Louis, on Monday, November 29, 1909, at the age of twenty-five, ten months and twenty-nine days. Mrs. Kriege was taken to St. Louis on November 29, by Dr. Kitchell and her husband and father. A surgical operation was performed but the patient succumbed after a few hours. The remains were brought to the home of her parents, two and one-half miles south of Union, where funeral services were conducted by Rev. T. Smith on Wednesday, December 1. Interment was made in Indian Prairie Cemetery in the presence of a large circle of sorrowing relatives and friends.
Mrs. Kriege was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Meade. She was married to Fred Kriege on June 20, 1902. To this union was born one son, Arthur Albert, who died Mary 20, 1904. Beside a grief-stricken husband and parents, the deceased leaves to mourn her untimely loss, three sisters, Ida, the wife of August Berghorn; Lulu, the wife of John Giebler, of Beaufort and Katie Meade who resides at home, also six brothers, Charles and Jessie of Jacob, Illinois; and Hiram, Walter, Henry, and Georgie who are yet under the parental roof. The deceased was beloved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed by those to whom she had endeared herself. ~~~ A Friend.
