Addie Mae Douglas, affectionately known as "Baby Mae", was born on June 8, 1925 in Bethany, Louisiana. She was the fourth of five children born to Albert and Addie Douglas. Both parents preceded her in death She relocated to Shreveport Louisiana and was raised by her beloved aunt Maggie " Tauntie" Anderson, who also preceded her in death.

Addie Mae relocated to Los Angeles, California in the early 1940's she married Theodore Beauford,II. This union was blessed with one son. Theodore BBeauford,III.

In 1955, she was joined in holy wedlock with her beloved husband of 47 years, Leo Vernon Tate. This union was blessed with two sons, Larry Darnell Tate and Mark C. Tate.

Addie Mae was a member of mount Hermon Missionary Baptist church for 2o years under the the leadership of Pastor A.R.Billingsly. She was employed by the County of Los Angeles for 25
years. Addie Mae was a devoted mother, grandmother, adviser and friend to many people. She was known for being very generous and outgoing and for her highly developed sense of fashion. She loved her life for her family and was loved by all who knew her.
