Sister M. Virgil OSF formerly the Miss Bertilla Miller, born to Edward Lawrence Miller and Caroline Kielhoefner on November 4, 1900. Sister M Virgil was the sixth daughter born to Edward and Caroline Miller. Of the family of six girls and two boys, her sister Marie, and her brother Andrew, are living. Two of her sisters, Sister Emmauel (Zita), snf Sister Michael (Genevieve) were members of our Congregation. Sister Virgil attended guardian Angel School in Oran, Missouri, and graduated from St. Francis Academy. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree through her continued studies at the College of St. Francis, Marquette and DePaul Universities. Out of state schools where Sister Virgil served as an elementary teacher include: Our Lady of Grace, Muskegon, Michigan: St Denis, Benton, Mo: and St Stephen, Johnstown, Pa.
