Bruce A. Barnett, 73, of Worcester, died Tuesday, June 9 at home. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Jacqueline M. (Decker) Barnett; two sons: Steven B. Barnett and his wife Michelle of North Grafton and John R. Barnett of Worcester; two daughters: Debra J. Cloutier of Worcester and Donna L. Carlson and her husband John of Worcester; five granddaughters: Kelly, Ashley, Lindsay, Alyssa and Bryce; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a daughter, Cathy A. Barnett in 1991 and a brother, John Barnett.

He was born in Clinton, the son of John E. and Vieno (Lindfors) Barnett, graduated from Commerce High School and served in the US Navy Reserves for several years. Bruce was a correctional officer at the Worcester County House of Corrections for 26 years, retiring in 2001. He was currently employed at Ralphs Tavern on Shrewsbury Street. He was a member of the Brown Square Civic Club and the Harold N. Keith American Legion Post #204 in West Boylston. He was an avid golfer and Chicago Bears fan.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 12 at 10 AM in FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting hours are Thursday, June 11 from 4-7 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
