In September, 1869, Mary (Wartenbee) Frager along with her husband Leander, and their 20mo old daughter, Lucinda, left Edgerton, Ohio, by wagon train, and headed for the plains of Kansas. Also joining them were Leander's older brother Josiah, his wife Lucy and son Link. Leander's younger brother William also joined them. Their final destination was Washington county, Kansas, where they homesteaded.
