Opal Irene Gross, 88, laid to rest at the Holton Cemetery
Opal Irene Gross, 88, of North Vernon died at 6:35 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at the Jennings Health Care Center at North Vernon.
Funeral service was held Saturday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home with Rev. Garland Rudd officiating. Burial was at the Holton Cemetery.
Mrs. Gross had been employed with Regal Rugs. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Born Feb. 14, 1919 in Butlerville, she was the daughter of Roy and Edith Willoughby Leahigh.
She is survived by one son, Donald Leahigh of Spencer; two daughters, Virginia Bradley of Westport and Sandra Nantz of North Vernon; one brother, Leroy Leahigh of North Vernon, 17 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Gross; five brothers, Charles, Glenn, Clarence, Paul and Wallace Leahigh, one sister, Marie Bigelow; and two daughters, Theresa Griffith and Marjorie Leahigh.
