First was married to Tilman Edwards on October 26, 1862 in Atchison Co., Missouri. Tilman died in 1885, then married John Stockman in 1894 in Nebraska.

PIONEER PASSES AWAY AFTER A SERIOUS FALL

Louisa Catherine Steadham was born July 26, 1844 in Scott County, Virginia and passed away at her home in Table Rock, Nebraska October 7, 1936 at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 11 days.

In 1852 she moved with her parents, Samuel and Corintha Steadman to Rockport, Missouri where she was united in marriage with Tillman A. Edwards. To this union ten children were born: Ellsworth, Miranda, Allie, Lafe, Roy, Grace, and Fred, three others dying in infancy.

In 1879 the family moved to Nebraska residing near Table Rock for many years. In 1885 Mr. Edwards passed away.

In 1894 she was united in marriage to James Stockman, who died in 1914.

With the exception of Allie Linn, who died in 1929 and the three who died in infancy, all of her children survive to mourn her passing: Ellsworth Edwards of Kansas City, Miranda Fisher of Pueblo, Colorado, Lafe Edwards of Kansas City, Roy Edwards of Denver, Colorado, Grace Layman of Lincoln, Nebr., Fred Edwards of Kansas City. One sister, Amanda Anderson of Oneida, Kansas also survives her.

They with their families that include 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren will miss grandma Stockman who has been an inspiration to her large and devoted family as well as all who knew her.

She was a devout Christian joining the church in the late sixties and remaining true to her Savior and his church to the end.

Funeral services were held in this community. The interment was in the family lot in the Table Rock cemetery.
