C. Fulton Lytle, of Stewartstown, died Thursday, June 11, 2009.

Born in York, he was the son of the late John E. and Jean (Comer) Lytle.

Along with his wife, Genie, Fulton owned and operated L&L Service and L&L Fuel in Stewartstown, until his retirement in 2009.

Throughout his life, Fulton was a pillar of his community, dedicating and volunteering his time and efforts to local community service. He was a two-time President of the Stewartstown Lions Club, where he led and was involved in many various fund raising events. He also volunteered in fund raising for the Eureka Volunteer Fire Company, Stewartstown. In addition to giving of his time, he was also a two gallon blood donor.

Prior to moving to Stewartstown, he was Past President of the Gettysburg Jaycees in 1979. Fulton served as secretary of the men's bowling league at Springfield Bowling Center, Seven Valleys, and was a member of Stewartstown United Methodist Church and the men's Sunday School Golf League. He was also a member and pitcher of the Stewartstown United Methodist Church softball team for many years, and participated in and managed the York County Baseball League for 10 years. He was a Little League and Soccer coach in Fawn Grove and the Stewartstown area.

Fulton enjoyed farming with his late father and loved the time he spent camping, fishing, and farming with his grandchildren.

He was the husband of Genie L. (Miller) Lytle. Fulton and Genie would have celebrated 36 years of marriage in July. In addition to Genie, he is survived by a son, Jason M. Lytle and wife, Sherri of York; and a daughter, Carrie R. McCloskey of Bellmar, NJ; two brothers, Daniel R. Lytle of Stewartstown and Clifton "Butch" Lytle of Oklahoma City, OK; two sisters, L. Faye Shanks of Havre de Grace, MD, and Norma J. Hammen of Joppa, MD; three grandchildren, Nathan P. McCloskey, Anissa J. Lytle, and Eva Lytle, who is expected to arrive in September; and also numerous family members and friends.

Interment was in Mt. Olivet United Methodist Cemetery, Fawn Grove.
