Mr. Currie was a Navy veteran and was a carman for CSX Railroad before retiring. He was a member of the American Legion.
A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Currie-Cameron family cemetery in Laurel Hill by the Rev. Don Malpass.
Mr. Currie is survived by his wife, Ruth C. Currie of the home; four sons, Howard Currie and Harold Currie, both of Laurel Hill, and Michael Currie and Paul Currie, both of Wadesboro; four sisters, Dorothy Lawrence of Chesapeake, Va., Mary Waters of Bennettsville, S.C., Jenell Joyce of Laurel Hill and Walena Wester of Laurinburg; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
