Frank H. Blankenship, Sr., 90, of Front Royal, died Friday, June 12, 2009 at Royal Haven Rest Home in Front Royal.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Dr. R. Mark Jordon. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Frank was born April 7, 1919 in Roanoke County, VA son of the late James Harvey and Leafie Ann Yopp Blankenship. He was the owner of Frank's Barber Shop on Main Street for 42 years, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Front Royal. Mr. Blankenship was the husband of the late Hazel Louise Blankenship.
Surviving are two sons Frank H. Blankenship, Jr. and David W. Blankenship both of Front Royal; one daughter Patricia Ann Stern of Winchester; one sister Ada Pratt of Salem, VA; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren. Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter Judy Lee Holley; two brothers; and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 15, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.
