Daniel E. Elam, 77, died at his home at 2611 Birch Street early Friday evening January 11, 1935.

Funeral services will be held from the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon. Burial will take place in the family plot in the Summerville Cemetery.

Daniel Edward Elam was born October 7, 1857 in Mason Co. Illinois to William Thomas Elam and Margaret Rodecker Elam. He had been a resident of La Grande, Oregon since 1927 and was a member of the Methodist Church South.

He is survived by his widow, Frances A. Webb Elam; four sons, John Elam of Absarkee, Mont., William and Dennis Elam of La Grande, and Clarence Elam of Warsaw, MO; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Leichliter of Ustic, Idaho, Mrs. Cora Moore of Hardin, Mont., and Mrs. Margaret Fife of Springport, MO; two brothers, John Elam of Agency, MO, and Lee Elam of Modesto, CA; and by four sisters, Mrs. Ellen Webb of Clinton, MO, Mrs. Lydia Carpenter of Chilhowee, MO, Mrs. Anna Enyart of Monta Bello, CA, and Naoma Reed of Brea, CA; and 22 grandchildren
