Rev. Dr. Nelson Abraham DePew was the son of Abraham and Sarah (Colton) DePew. Sarah Maria (Griffin) DePew was his 1st wife. They were married December 18, 1834. Sarah died April 4, 1897. Mary E. (Pangburn) DePew was his 2nd wife. They were married September 15, 1898. Mary died December 23, 1916. Rev. DePew was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Licensed to exhort by Rev. Samuel W. Smith, pastor at Cornwall October 4, 1839; to preach by Rev. Samuel D.
