Celebration of Life Services for Oleta (Petie) Reid, 93, of Lubbock will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, in Sanders Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Reverend John Ballard. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Reid went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 12, 2009. She was born to the late J. E. (Bud) and Eunice Timms on October 26, 1915, in Ballinger. She moved to Shallowater in 1925 and then a few years later to Lubbock. Mrs. Reid was employed by Jarrett West Drug, Lester's Jewelry, Southwestern Bell, and managed Town Plaza, Del Estrado, and Plantation House Apartments.
Survivors include one daughter, Glo and James Odom of Lubbock; two granddaughters, Patti and Rickey Mosser of Austin, Pam and Larry Leftwich of Lubbock; two great-grandchildren, Jennifer Leftwich of Dallas, Jay and wife Megan Leftwich of Dallas; and one great-great granddaughter, Landry Leftwich of Dallas.
