Motorcycle Division Has Most Hazardous Work to Curtail Speeding and Reckless Driving.
In 1910 the city of Spokane purchased the first motorcycle for police work and W.G. 'Reggie' Boldman was selected as the first motorcycle officer. Shortly after being assigned to this work Mr. Boldman resigned and since then many men have served in that capacity.

Winfield G. Boldman, 79, died Friday in a local hospital. A resident of Nueces County for 28 years, he was a native of Ohio. He resided in Flour Bluff.

Boldman was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and World War I. He was a Mason.

Surviving are two sons, Charles E. Boldman of Indianapolis, Ind., and Thomas F. Boldman of Columbus, Ohio, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held in Clifford Jackson Funeral Chapel. Burial was at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio.
