Mr. Opdycke was a son of the late John and Margaret Snyder Opdycke. He was born in Kingwood Township, Hunterdon County. He was a member of Baptistown Baptist Church and the Improved Order of Red Men, Flemington.
Surviving are his widow, Mary Jane Bonham Opdycke; two daughters Mrs. William F. Hillpot and Mrs. Elden E. Cooley, both of Frenchtown; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; two sistersMrs. Elizabeth Hankinson, of Trenton, and Miss Cora Opdycke of Whitehouse, and five brothers, David of New Brunswick; Frank of Lambertville; Russell of Bound Brook; Martin of Trenton; and Fred of Phillipsburg.
He had twin girls:
1) Lena Margaret
2) Elizabeth Mae
