She and her husband, William, who died Jan. 4, 1976 operated Hillpot Hatcheries in Frenchtown for many years.
Born in Kingwood Township Nov. 10, 1894, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Jane Bonham Opdycke.
Lena was a member of Frenchtown Baptist Church where she served as clerk for 11 years, and was secretary and office manager of the hatchery for fifty years.
Survivors include three sons, Edward of Freehold, NJ and Lawrence and Welling, both of Frenchtown; three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Godown of Frenchtown, Mrs. Dorothy Schultz of Flagtown, NJ, and Mrs. Lucile Baldwin of Columbia, MD, 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
