Stephen Ray Barger of Avoca, IN, died Sunday, February 2, 2003, at Bloomington Hospital. Born on September 28, 1948, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Franklin C. and Helen M. (Rowe) Barger.

Surviving are one daughter, Juanita Ellen Felknor of Bedford, IN; one son, Stephen Arron Barger of Avoca, IN; two brothers, Joe E. Barger of Needmore, IN, and Jerry D. Barger of Avoca, IN; four grandchildren: Samantha, Jessica, and J.R. Turpin, and Isaac Felknor of Bedford, IN; one niece, Suzi Pointer of Spencer, IN, and one nephew, Bradley Barger of Bedford, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was employed by the Monroe Bounty Community School Corporation in the maintenance/custodial department for thirty-one years. He attended Needmore School and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles AERIE #1085.

Services for Stephen Barger will be at noon Wednesday, February 5th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with the Revs. Steve Goens and Lewis Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca.
