DEATH CLAIMS W. J. ARNDT AT HIS HOME HERE
W. J. Arndt, 77, old-time resident of the Bisbee district, passed away at his residence near the Hoatson shaft yesterday afternoon at 1 p.m. He had been a resident of this district since 1901, at which time he first came here with his family to settle.
Mr. Arndt was born September 1, 1857, at Breslau, Germany. After coming to this district he worked for the Calumet and Arizona Mining Company for 29 years.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters, a son and six grandchildren. The children are: Mrs. W. H. Forbes of El Paso, Tex.; Mrs. C. H. Rolfe of Phoenix; Mrs. S. J. Pearce of Warren and William J. Arndt, Jr., of Bisbee.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed, pending the arrival of relatives. The body is in charge of the Hubbard mortuary.

According to his death certificate, he was the son of William Arndt born in Germany. His birth place of Breslau, Germany is now Wrocław, western Poland. He was a retired miner and died at age 77 of cardiac insufficiency.
