Lloyd graduated from Flathead County H.S (Kalispell) and subsequently joined the US Navy. Lloyd is a WWII veteran; serving in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946. The majority of his service was in the Pacific Theatre on the USS Siboney Aircraft Carrier. At the completion of his military duty, he began his career as a switchman for the Great Northern Railway in Spokane.

Lloyd married his wife of 62 years, Mary Patricia Mulvey on June 15, 1946. They raised three children: Linda (Bill) Kendall, Darlene Absalonson, and Stephen (Audrey) Absalonson. His sister Evelyn Miller of Brownsville, Oregon, Sister-in-Laws Louise and Carol Absalonson of Spokane, brother-in-laws Joe (Laverne) Mulvey of Lompoc, CA and Robert Mulvey of Spokane, WA, also survives him. Lloyd has six grandchildren (Rob, Jared, Trevor, Michelle, Nicholas, and Michael), four great grandchildren (Hayden, Kayla, Avery, and Gracie) and numerous nieces and nephews. Lloyd's parents and brothers Morris and Harlen preceded him in death. Lloyd was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and is already missed. Throughout his life, Lloyd enjoyed studying the Bible and was an avid fisherman. He taught us all the value of a strong work ethic, often working three jobs himself, and the importance of commitment to family.

The funeral service is at Trinity Lutheran, 2 pm, Saturday, October 4th followed by graveside burial at Fairmont Cemetery and a reception back at Trinity Lutheran.
