They lost touch for several yrs. then one nite in 2004 he ask me to go with him to see Eva. We went and, she opened her door & her heart to us immediately. She hugged us up and, thanked Terry for coming to see her again. She had wondered for yrs. where her "other boy" was. Eva....like Terry's biological mom was a wonderful, sweet, caring & loving woman.
I loved her from the start just as I did his Mother[Nita]
We found out Eva was in Kindred Hospital on Wednesday. Thursday nite we went to see her. We had been told that the doctor's only gave her 1-2 weeks to live. I was amazed when we got there...she didn't look or act like someone who only had a short time to live. She was sitting up on the side of her bed talking, laughing, gripping & loving on our 7 yr.old[Casey] She was trying to sneak Casey a chocolate bar but, I busted her. Lol told her if she gave Casey that candy I was leaving her there because, it would make her hyper.
Eva laughed & told Casey well you can't have it this time then. Eva was telling us what she wanted after she died & said she knew there would be abunch of "static" once she was gone but. that she knew her boys would stand up for her. Anyway we left her about 8 p.m. and, told her we would see her again in a day or 2. Once in the car I told Terry "that woman isn't going anywhere for awhile...she is too alert, still too full of life" How wrong I was... she died 3 days later. She was such a sweet woman & I know God had saved a place in Heaven for her. We will miss her so much & love her always.
Eva was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & friend.
