Funeral services will be Saturday for Walter Bernard Hoffman, 86, Madison, who died Wednesday (today) at Madison Community Hospital. The Rev. James Christopherson will officiate at the 2 p.m. services in Trinity Lutheran Church, and burial wll be in Graceland Cemetery.

Visitation will begin Thursday evening at the Hallenbeck-Ellsworth Funeral Home.

Hoffman was born Jan. 13, 1899 at Wentworth. He married Gertrude Hanneman at Madison May 5, 1926. Since 1919, he has lived on the home farm, engaged in farming and beekeeping. A lifetime resident of Lake County, he helped with the contruction of Trinity Lutheran Church in 1921.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude of Madison; a son, Conrad of Madiso; a daughter, Mrs. Milton (Lois) Digre of Alexandria, minn.; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Armin of Madison, and Mark of Pasadena, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Hallenbeck-Ellsworth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
