He was survived by three sons, Duke, El[mo], and Arnett, and two daughters, Mesdames Elliot (Rube) and Minnie Lee Williams Railey (Jim), all of Bethel.
He was a pioneer of DeSoto Parish who lived in the Bethel community since at least 1860, when he married the former Amanda Henry, who predeceased him. Williams migrated to De Soto Parish from the Warrior District of Bibb County, Georgia, near Macon. Many other families followed the same migratory path, including Railey, Mosely, and Tidwell, among others.
