The cemetery office records has his name listed as Abraham Abernathy. I found him listed as Adam Abernathy on page 583 Greene County, MO. Cemeteries Hazelwood Cemetery, Vol. IX, by Ozark Genealogical Society. He is actually shown on lot 763 which is not correct. The A is sure they have correct, but the dam part of Adam was underlined, meant they were not sure of his given name. The cemetery office has this death year and age for Abraham, on lot 764. That is the photo I have taken.

So have listed him now as Abraham Adam Abernathy. Perhaps some family out there has the answers for this one.

He does not have any monument. I have in
These folk are buried in Hazelwood Cemetery in the segregated section for black families. It was a policy of many cemeteries in the past. That is not true in todays time, and perhaps it was started when the race riots had taken the toll on all. Now it does not matter what color of skin you have there is not a section reserved for black families.
