Mary Kring Heis--was born Jan. 10, 1842, in Westerville, Ohio.
Mary was the daughter of Conrad and Catherine (Seidner) Kring of Westerville, OH.During her childhood, Mary lived on the family farm, helping her mother with household duties and helping her father farm chores.
Mary found God at a young age and was a member The evangelical Church in her home town.
On Apr. 20, 1862, in Mercer County, OH., as Mary Kring, Mary married Frederick Heis, of Ft. Recovery, OH. (1840-1918).. The son of Martin and Esther Heis, of Wiettenberg, Germany.Like most people of that era, Frederick made their living farming the land. He owned a small homestead just outside of town.
The Civil War had been going on for a little more the six months. Frederick thought he had to do his part, so he enlisted in the Union Army.
This left Mary, home alone, with child, to take care of the upkeep of the farm. With help from fiends and family, Mary made through until Frederick returned from the war.
The marriage of Mary and Frederick was blessed with six children, two sons and four daughters;

On Jan. 29, 1905, in Ft. Recovery, Mary passed away, in her home, surrounded by her family. Mary was buried in Green Mound Cemetery, Ft. Recovery, Ohio.
