Jesse and Mabel had three children--Jewel in 1920, Joe in 1921, and James Lewis in 1927. Jesse worked as a farmer in Hays County while Mabel took care of their home and children.
Jesse died on May 7, 1994, in San Marcos, Texas. Mabel, his wife of 48 years, had died on November 8, 1966, also in San Marcos, Hays County, Texas. They were both buried in San Marcos Cemetery.
