Joseph E. Boucek was born in Klattan, Bohemia, on November 16th, 1843 and died at his home six miles north of Ada, Kansas, September 23rd, 1915.

On August 4th, 1865, he was married to Anna Kinsky. They lived in Klattan for one year and then moved to Pittsburg, PA, where they lived for several years, moving to Kansas in 1870. Mrs Boucek died in 1882 and was buried in the Baldwin Cemetery. To this union were born ten children, five are now living; Andy Boucek, Anna Blaha, Celia Wolf, Mary Keim and Joseph C. Boucek.

On December 2nd, 1885, Mr. Boucek was married to Magdelena Cormark (Cermak) and for thirty-one years they lived together near Ada until Mr. Boucek died. To this union were born seven children, six of whom are living. Ida Ververka, Lena Srna, Ollie Srna, Millie Boucek and William Boucek.

His wife, Magdelena Boucek, three brothers, Chas. Boucek of Klattan, Bohemia, Max Boucek of Pittsburg, PA and Fred Boucek of Ada, Kansas and one sister Tressie Makesva of Pittsburg, PA. eleven children and thirty-one grandchildren survive him.

Joseph Boucek lived on his homestead six miles north of Ada, Kansas for forty-five years and during this time he had children in school forty-four years.

The entire community will miss Mr. Boucek as he was a loving husband and father and every person he knew was his friend.
