Wilbur B. Adams
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Sept. 29, at the family home, 305 Nevada street, for Wilbur B. Adams, who passed away at his home Thursday, Sept. 27, after a brief illness. Rev. S.M. Hunter officiated. Miss Isabel Howland, accompanied by Professor Henry Woodward, sang two of Mr. Adams' favorite hymns, "Walking with Jesus" and "Saved by Grace."

Burial was in Oaklawn cemetery with T.J. Bunday, Jos. Hopeman, C.E. Payne, T.S. Silliman, Warren Slocum, and Harold Crandall of Morristown acting as pall bearers.

Wilbur Burton Adams, son of Bartlett and Ann Fuller Adams, was born Sept. 17, 1858, at Bakersfield, Vermont. In 1868 the family moved to a farm four miles east of Faribault, where he grew to early manhood. He attended school at East Prairieville and Faribault and later taught two terms of rural school in Rice county. He lived for a short time in Greensberg, Kan., and in San Antonio, Texas.

On May 14, 1858, at Lake Geneva, Wis., he was married to Mary A. Nichols, who passed away Sept. 15, 1944. They lived in Morristown and Faribault, moving to Northfield in 1923. He was employed by the Sheffield Milling Company and its affiliates of Minneapolis for over forty years until his retirement. Mr. Adams was a member of the Congregational-Baptist church of Northfield and of Social Lodge No. 48, A.F. & A.M.

He is survived by one son, George, of Moose Lake; one daughter, Marian, of Northfield' one sister, Mrs. Warren B. Davis, of Long Beach, Calif., one brother, Harry, of Medford; two grandchildren, Richard of Duluth, and Elaine of Waseca, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, one sister and one brother.
